8 days from Rabat to desert
Day 1: Rabat – Marrakech
We meet you at your hotel in Rabat and travel to the beautiful red city of Marrakech. Arrived in Marrakech, you enjoy a delicious lunch in a Moroccan restaurant. Then, you will take a walk in the main square before joining your Riad in the heart of the medina.
Day 2: Guided tour of Marrakech
After your breakfast your local guide picks you up in your riad. Then embark on a visit to the historical sites of the city of the Almoravids. The visit includes the palaces, the Koranic schools, the gardens, Majorelle and that of Menara the Jewish quarter… At the end of the day you will spend the night relaxing in your charming riad around a good Moroccan meal.
Day 2: Marrakech – Ouarzazate
After your breakfast, we leave for Ouarzazate through the Atlas Mountains via Tizi n Tichka 2260m. Visit the Kasbah of Telouet and cross the Ounila valley to reach the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Visit of the famous kasbah with a local guide. Lunch and continuation to Ouarzazate where we will visit the film studios and the Kasbah of Taourirt. We will spend the night in a hotel with dinner.
Day 3: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud
A day full of visits and discoveries, we will go to the oasis of Skoura to visit the Kasbah Amridil. From there, we will cross the valley of roses to reach Kelaa M’gouna. We will visit a cosmetics cooperative made from locally harvested roses. Then our journey will take us to Boumalne Dades following the Dades Valley. We stop at Boumalne to take beautiful pictures of the valley. From there we continue to Tinghir. We continue towards the Todra gorges. Lunch and visit of the gorges. From there, we head towards Erfoud. Passage through Tinjdad and Touroug. Dinner and night at the hotel in Erfoud.
Day 4: Erfoud – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi
After your breakfast, we will visit the fossils, then we will leave for the desert of Merzouga, we will visit the village of Khamila known by its Gnaoua musicians. Special Berber lunch. Then, you will be invited for a camel ride to reach the bivouac in the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Admire the sunset in the dunes, spend a wonderful night at the camp in nomadic tents with dinner.
Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Tazarine – Zagora
After a nomadic breakfast, we ride camels at the foot of the dunes. Then we go to Rissani. Discovery of the traditional sounds of the market. Continue to Zagora. We will cross the magnificent desert landscapes of southern Morocco passing through Alnif and Tazarine. Dinner and night in a hotel in Zagora.
Day 6: Zagora – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After your breakfast, we will visit the pottery workshops of Tamgroute, then we will continue to Ouarzazate. We will follow the Draa Valley to Agdz. Visit of the Kasbah of Tamnougalt and continuation to Ouarzazate. From there, we will cross the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech. Dinner and night in a Riad.
Day 7: Marrakech – Essaouira
After your breakfast we leave for Essaouira. You will discover the extraction of argan oil in a cooperative, take beautiful photos of the goats on the argan trees. Visit of the medina and the port of the sqala, stroll on the beach. Dinner and night in a riad in the medina.
Day 8: Essaouira – Casablanca – Rabat
After your breakfast in your riad we transfer you to Rabat via El Jadida and Casablanca visit the great Hassan II mosque. We will drop you off at your accommodation.
