6 days tour from Marrakech to Chegaga via Foum zguid. Depart from Marrakech and cross the magnificent landscapes of the desert to arrive at Chagaga, a Berber village located in the middle of the dunes. You will have the opportunity to see spectacular landscapes, oases, mountains and valleys. You will spend the night under the stars and you will be able to admire the sunset over the dunes. Set off for a day of camel trekking to explore the dunes. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Berber village and its surroundings before resuming your journey to Marrakech.
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Welcome and transfer to your riad in the medina
Day 2: Departure from Marrakech and direction Foum Zguid
We depart from Marrakech and head towards Foum Zguid via Ait Ben Hddou. We cross varied landscapes, mountains, oases and Berber villages. Stop at Ait Ben Hddou to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Let’s visit the ramparts, the troglodyte houses and the gardens. We then continue our journey to Foum Zguid where we spend the night.
Day 3: Visit of Foum Zguid and departure for Chagaga
Start your day with a visit to the village of Foum Zguid. You can admire the traditional mud houses and the local markets. Then head south to reach the Chagaga Dunes. Once there, you can explore the dunes on camel back and watch the sunset over the desert. You will spend the night in a traditional Berber bivouac and enjoy the twinkling stars of the night sky.
Day 4: Exploration of the dunes of Chagaga and surroundings
You are going on an excursion to the Chegaga region to discover the surroundings of the desert!
The surroundings of the dunes offer a variety of landscapes to explore. There are rocky mountains, green oases and even a salt lake called Lake Iriki which is surrounded by dunes. You can visit nearby Berber villages to experience the local culture and meet the locals.
Activities around the dunes include camel trekking and even quad biking. You can also enjoy the sunset over the dunes and take a 4×4 safari to explore the surroundings. Finally, you enjoy a camel ride to walk through the dunes and admire the wild beauty of the Moroccan Sahara. Night in your bivouac with a beautiful evening of nomadic music, dinner around the fire of the bivouac.
Day 5: Chegaga – Mhamid – Zagora – Ouarzazate
In the morning, we will visit the Saharan village of M’hamid, then we will continue to Zagora to explore the palm grove and then visit the village of Agdz and Sakasbah forfite, before going to Ouarzazate. Night in a hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 6: Return to Marrakech
After your breakfast we transfer you to Marrakech airport, or to your accommodation.
